A 66-year-old priest who stood down over a child abuse allegation said he hoped priests could be treated like other professions where no public statement is made when they take administrative leave.
The North's Public Prosecution Service concluded this week after a 15-month police investigation that Father Oliver Brennan had no case to answer.
The Louth-based parish priest said last Sunday: "I never got a shock like it in my life when a statement was read to me saying that an allegation was made."
Fr Brennan always refuted the allegations as false and groundless.
