Fr Linnane was serving in the parish of Woodford / Looscaun in South Galway for a number of years, and according to Bishop John Kirby of the Diocese of Clonfert (pic alongside), Fr Linnane was only on loan to the Diocese from the Diocese of Texas - parish of Prince of Peace, San Antonio Texas.
The Diocese of Texas, under care of Bishop Gregory Aymond, has now stated that Fr Linnane is now 'no longer affiliated' with Texas, but that he did receive his retirement payment from them and also has income from the Irish State in the form of the Senior Payment formerly known as the State Pension.
