
Flanagan, who was a guest on the show last week which dealt with the proposed ethics class trials in NSW, dismissed religion as "fiction" and "proceeded to further mock and ridicule religious teaching, paying special attention to Catholicism", according to the Catholic League's website.
"She dismisses religious as fiction, which is fine, this is after all opinion. She did however cross the line when she took aim at some of Catholicism's most sacred beliefs especially with those in regards to the Eucharist," said a spokesman of the group.
"What is interesting is she leaves out other non-Christian religions."
The organisation wants Channel 10 to "take appropriate action and remove her from employment".
