Buckley Guilty of Simony??

Bishop Pat Buckley is one of Ireland's most noted renegade clerics amongst many and has been very much to the forefront on many different topics and most notably when Sinead O'Connor was ordained some years ago.

At the time Buckley let it be known that he felt it was not valid as it raised the possibility of there being an act of simony committed.

Simony can be defined as follows: intentional buying or selling of something spiritual or something closely associated with the spiritual....

Now it seems that Bishop Pat has decided that it can be a viable route and has sent a mailshot to all the wedding planners in Ireland advising them of his availability to perform such ceremonies as already advertised on his website...





In any other job, this would be seen as necessary but this mailshot reeks of desperation, tactlessness and tastelestness to the end and certainly involves mammon via matrimony...


Well Bishop Pat, people in episcopal glasshouses should never have thrown those stones now should they....?
