Pope Benedict has accepted the resignation of Jakarta Cardinal Julius Darmaatmadja SJ and announced his succession by Coadjutor Bishop Ignatius Suharyo Hardjoatmodjo. Cardinal Darmaatjadja had reached the age limit of 75, the Vatican Information Service reports.
He had been archbishop of Jakarta since his installation on January 11, 1996.SIC: CTHAS
